Meet The Team

michael daoust
DFW Regional Director
Michael and his wife Elizabeth are dedicated to guiding anyone towards an intimate, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ…

The seeds for Influencers DFW were laid in Spring of 2012 when Michael experienced two major life events at the same time. Michael’s Home Church was going through a split at the same time he experienced a major back injury, ending his 25-year career as a firefighter. These difficult times led Michael to reconnect with a previous mentor, Pete McKenzie.

Pete gave Michael a book called “The Journey to the Inner Chamber” written by his friend, Rocky Fleming. Michael read the book, enjoyed it thoroughly and wanted to experience the “Inner Chamber” as he was not sure that he had. The inner chamber is a place of deepening one’s intimacy in Christ.
Throughout the next nine months, Michael wrestled with “The Journey” materials and discussed with Pete their implications in his life. The result was transformative!

Michael was so excited about the process he had just experienced in The Journey that he wanted to share it with all his friends and Church. Sadly, life events of surgeries and moving meant his prayer of passing forward this process to others would have to wait because knowing that Michael was going to be retired, his family was praying about what and where the next path in their lives should take them. Still, Michael’s transformation led to a passionate desire for the Scriptures, reminiscent of his commitment to Christ some 35 year before. At the encouragement of his wife Elizabeth, Michael decided to attend Dallas Theological Seminary, meaning they would be relocating to the DFW area, settling in Frisco Texas, in 2016.

In 2018, as part of a Seminary assignment, Michael contacted his Church’s new Pastor of Discipleship to see if he could assist the Church while completing the assignment. His Pastor not only approved the collaboration but invited Michael to be involved with the Church's Men’s Ministry, as the Church was looking for ways to increase the Discipleship of the men at our Church. As part of the research for this, Michael shared 35 years of men’s ministry materials that he had participated in over the decades. With no prompting by Michael, the Pastor of Discipleship went through dozens of curriculums and ended up selected the Influencer Journey Materials, and in the Spring of 2018, the church conducted two six-week "Journey to the Inner Chamber" groups, which lead to the first full nine month "Journey" group in the fall of 2019.
The 2019 Journey Group exceeded all expectation as men pressed into their relationship in Christ experiencing similar transformations as Michael did years before. From this first group, they launched two more and then two became four, even leading to groups at several other local churches. Michael hopes and prays to continue to share this process ever wider in with the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex where he lives. Therefore, with the support of other local men who have experienced the same life transformation in Christ he had, they established Influencer DFW, a Regional Office of Influencers Global Ministries in March of 2022.

To God be the Glory, as men and women are encouraging fellow believes toward an intimate, abiding relationship in Christ (1 Cor. 3:7).

In Memory of
dick casper
This honorable mention is for our dear Brother Dick Casper, who is now in the presence of our Lord. Dick was a founding member of the Influencers DFW board. He first went through The Journey in 2019. His experience so invigorated him that he took The Journey back to many of the men and women he had mentored during his time in Texas. Though in his 80’s, most of us found it difficult to keep up with Dick, his excitement and enthusiasm to see people grow into an intimate abiding relationship with Jesus Christ was infectious. He mentored us all, Prayed with
us all and encouraged us all to be better for Christ. To God be the Glory!
Dick's obituary of a life well lived is below. We miss him dearly.
Richard “Dick” Casper passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Friday, November 3
in McKinney, Texas. Dick was born May 14, 1936, in San Jose, California. His parents, Nicky and Inez Casper, moved the family to Salinas when he was two months old. Dick was a graduate of Salinas High School (‘54), Hartnell Junior College (’56), and University of California at Berkeley (CAL-’58). He earned a track and field scholarship to CAL and was a competitive miler for the famous track coach Brutus Hamilton.
In 1959 Dick married Paula Jean Outland of San Marino, California. He met her at a Cal
Dash UCLA football game when Paula was a student at UCLA. They were married for 58 years
until Paula passed away on June 4, 2017.

Dick was a high school teacher and coach at both North Salinas High and Alisal High. He taught history and American government and coached basketball and track and field. Track was always his total love and passion. In 1968 he formed the Salinas Valley Track Club (SVTC), a successful boys and girls used sports organization. SVTC had over 1,600 athletes over in an 18-year span. Many of those athletes went on to compete in high school and college track and coaching. Several even made the US Olympic Track and Field team.
Dick was inducted into the Hartnell College Sports Hall of Fame in 2019 and the Salinas Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2023. In 1978 Dick retired from teaching and begin a 33-year career in the life insurance industry working for Critchfield and Associates Guarantee Mutual in Salinas.
He is a devout Christian and was very involved with the first presbyterian church of Salinas.
In 2021 Dick and Paula moved to Plano, Texas but not without a two-year stop in Branson, Missouri. In Plano, they became active members at both LifePoint (Plano) and Providence (Frisco) Churches. It was during this time Dick made the transition from being a track coach to a men’s coach. He developed a passion for mentoring Christian men in their and lives and was very involved with coaches' outreach – a Christian organization that supported high school sports coaches in their faith journey.
During the seven years that Paula battled Alzheimer’s, Dick worked lovingly and tirelessly has her full-time caretaker. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, coach, teacher, mentor and friend to so many. He will be sorely missed but will be forever in our hearts.
